(1) If a member who has been elected as a candidate for a position at the local level on the basis of a party, commits desertion in accordance with subsection (1) of section 32 of the Act, the central committee of that party shall decide and inform the Commission of the circumstances of his desertion. When informing in this way, a copy of the decision of the Central Committee should also be submitted.
(2) After receiving the information as per sub-rule (2), within fifteen days, the Commission shall publish the notification in a national level daily newspaper.
(3) After the publication of the notice as per sub-rule (2), the position of such member of the local level shall automatically be deemed to be vacant.
